Mera Peak, Nepal
Mera Peak Climbing Trek
The Highlights of Nepal
Spring (Mar-May), Autumn (Sep-Nov) 2 18 Days
Journey Overview
Six thousand four hundred sixty-one meters. That's higher than any mountain in Europe, Africa, or North America. And you can stand there, without being a professional mountaineer. Mera Peak is Nepal's highest trekking peak, an achievable yet exhilarating challenge that rewards the brave with something extraordinary: a 360-degree panorama of five of the world's six highest mountains stretching across the horizon.
Your journey begins with the iconic flight to Lukla, then veers away from the crowded Everest trail into the pristine Hinku Valley. Trek through rhododendron forests where red pandas hide in bamboo thickets, cross suspension bridges over the roaring Hinku River, and walk through alpine meadows where yaks graze beneath hanging glaciers. In Khare, at 5,045 meters, you'll spend days mastering technical skills: crampons, ice axes, rope work under the guidance of professional climbing experts who ensure you're ready for summit day.
Then comes the ascent. From High Camp, begin the climb in darkness, headlamps cutting through the cold as you traverse Mera Glacier. As dawn breaks, the Himalayas reveal themselves in a display that defies description: Everest rising above all others, Lhotse's massive wall, Cho Oyu's white pyramid, Makalu's perfect cone, and Kanchenjunga's sprawling massif. All five visible from a single summit. This is the view that mountaineers dream of, and you've earned it.
That view from 6,461 meters? It belongs to those who dare.
