At the heart of our company is a clear vision: to create responsible and meaningful travel experiences that bridge cultures, honoring the Himalayas and forging sustainable partnerships. With a Ph.D. in Economics from Fudan University, Shanghai, and specialized expertise in Sino-Nepal relations, I bring international experience that bridges cultural and economic landscapes across Asia's most dynamic markets. My fluency in Nepali, Chinese, and English enables authentic collaboration with partners and clients worldwide. I am honored to have been recognized with the Silk Road Friendship Award and the Nepal Bidya Bhusan Padak presented by the President of Nepal. These achievements reflect my lifelong commitment to advancing cross-cultural understanding and promoting tourism that respects local communities while delivering exceptional experiences to international travelers. Under my leadership, our agency continues to innovate, offering travel solutions that showcase the very best of Nepal.
Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma is a distinguished economist, scholar, cultural diplomat, and tourism leader whose career spans over two decades at the intersection of Nepal, China, and global development. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the School of Economics, Fudan University, Shanghai (2007–2011), where his doctoral research focused on FDI in post-conflict transitional economies, with Nepal as the central case study. He also holds an MBA from Shankerdev Campus, Kathmandu (1998), and conducted his master's research on tourism marketing in the Khumbu region.
As Chairman, Dr. Sharma brings a rare combination of financial expertise and geopolitical insight to Nepal's tourism sector. He served as Director of Finance and Accounts at Adventure Outdoor Excursion Pvt. Ltd. from 2003 to 2021, and currently serves as a Visiting Scholar at Kathmandu University's School of Management, where he designed a pioneering course on doing business in China. He also serves as General Secretary of the Chinese Tour Operator Alliance of Nepal, championing inbound Chinese tourism and bilateral trade.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Sharma has published in peer-reviewed Chinese academic journals on topics ranging from Sino-Nepal trade and tourism financing to China's real estate market. His general writing has appeared in The Kathmandu Post and The Rising Nepal, and he has edited major publications including "Belt and Road Initiative in South Asia" and contributed to "Transforming Nepal's Agriculture".
Dr. Sharma is a recipient of the prestigious "Nepal Bhusan" national honour (2016), the "Silk Road Friendship Award" by the China International Cultural Exchange Center (2021), and multiple Outstanding Student Awards from Fudan University. He has chaired high-profile national and international conferences on geopolitics, BRI, AI, youth leadership, and Nepal-China cooperation.
Beyond his professional life, Dr. Sharma is deeply committed to social causes. He is Founder Chairman of "My Home" orphanage, the Nepal-China Friendship Forum (2013–), and the Trans Himalaya Development Center (2019–). He is fluent in Nepali, Chinese, and English.

Ms. Pragya Sharma Pathak
Managing Director
Travel is about connecting cultures, building friendships, and creating meaningful experiences. As Managing Director of Adventure Outdoor Trek & Expeditions and Adventure Outdoor Excursion Pvt. Ltd., I lead our team in providing authentic, sustainable, and memorable travel services in Nepal and abroad. With the guidance of our Chairman, Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma, we are committed to promoting responsible tourism, respecting local communities, and strengthening international travel connections.
Ms. Pragya Sharma Pathak is a seasoned tourism entrepreneur and business leader with over two decades of hands-on experience in Nepal's travel, hospitality, and expedition industry. Born and raised in Kathmandu, she holds a Master of Business Studies (MBS) from Shankerdev Campus, a Bachelor in Commerce from Nepal Commerce Campus, and a 9-month postgraduate qualification in Business Analysis from the National University of Singapore, a foundation that blends academic rigor with real-world commercial strategy.
Ms. Sharma began her career as a professional English-speaking tour guide (1998–2000), giving her an intimate, ground-level understanding of Nepal's tourism landscape. She went on to become Director of Adventure Outdoor Excursion Pvt. Ltd. in 2001 and was appointed Managing Director of Adventure Outdoor Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. in 2009, a role she continues to hold.
As Marketing Director, she has represented Nepal at the world's premier travel trade fairs, including WTM London (2010–2023), ITB Berlin (2009–2017), CITM China (2005–2018), and the Travel Adventure Show in Washington D.C. (2015–2018), building lasting relationships with international partners across four continents.
Beyond business, Ms. Sharma is actively engaged in community work, serving as Vice President of the Everest Future Foundation and Treasurer of the Nepal-China Friendship Forum. She is fluent in Nepali, Hindi, and English, with spoken proficiency in Chinese.
