Gokyo – Cho La Pass – Everest Base Camp Trek
The Highlights of Nepal
Spring (Mar-May), Autumn (Sep-Nov) 1 21 Days
Journey Overview
There's the standard trail to Everest Base Camp that everyone takes. Then there's this—a three-week odyssey that weaves together turquoise glacial lakes, a technical high-altitude pass, and the world's highest peak into one transformative journey through the heart of the Khumbu.
Your adventure begins with the iconic Lukla flight, then immediately diverges from the standard route toward the sacred Gokyo Valley. Trek past six emerald lakes fed by the Ngozumba Glacier, the longest in the Himalayas. Climb Gokyo Ri at dawn and watch sunrise illuminate four of the world's six highest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu in a single panoramic view that will redefine your understanding of scale.
Then comes the challenge that separates this trek from all others: crossing Cho La Pass at 5,420 meters. Start before dawn, strap on microspikes, and traverse a frozen landscape of ice and stone where prayer flags snap in thin mountain air. Descend into the valley that leads to Base Camp, where you'll stand surrounded by the chaotic beauty of the Khumbu Icefall and climb Kala Patthar for the closest view of Everest possible without climbing gear.
Throughout this journey, you'll sleep in traditional Sherpa teahouses, hear monks chant at Tengboche Monastery beneath Ama Dablam's perfect pyramid, and walk trails that have drawn adventurers for generations.
The mountains are calling. The questions isn't whether you're ready, it's whether you can imagine saying no.
