Spend the morning to visit the Chong Gye tombs and then drive to Samye, touring Samye monastery and the surrounding area, over night

Leaving Samye, drive via Yamdrok Lake and Norjing Gang Sang glacier, crossing Kamapa la pass (4790m) and the Karo la pass (5050m) to Gyangtse, 295kms/8hrs

Touring the Palchor Chode monastery including the Kumbum stupa and the ancient Zong there, lunch in Gyangtse, afternoon to Shigatse with stops at local farming villages, visiting families and also a tour to Shalu monastery, at noon drive to Shigatse, 90kms/7hrs
