Trip Overview

Kirtipur is one of the traditional Newari town in Kathmandu valley. Arrival in Kathmandu

Adventure Outdoors’s representative will meet you upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, and transfer you to hotel. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner. For dinner, you will be served excellent Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country's rich food culture.

day 2

Namaste Kathmandu

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour through UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. The arch formed white washed Stupa is made out of block and earth supporting an elevated tapered tower topped by a zenith of copper overlaid. The infinitely knowledgeable eyes of Lord Buddha lay on every one of the four sides of the tapered base. This slope is a mosaic of little Chaityas and Pagoda and is the most imperative Buddhist site in Nepal. Appreciate the perspectives of sprawling Kathmandu from the highest point of this world legacy site landmark. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of Bagmati river and is one of the major temples of Lord Shiva. Kirtipur Visit and Chandragiri cable car drive and the hike to Chitlang village

After breakfast, we drive to southwest of Kathmandu city to reach Kirtipur, a small Newari town. The first place we visit will be chilamcho stupa, a pagoda style temple. It lies at quite a height surrounded by traditional homes all around. People living there and their lifestyle also seem to be very traditional and ritual. We can find mostly the Newar communities. We move down from Chilamcho stupa to Bagh Bhairab Temple. It lies around half a kilometer from Chilamcho Stupa. The Bagh Bhairab temple consists of statue of Hindu God Bhairab. It is different from other Bhairab statue as it does not consist of tongue with its mouth open wide. From the back side of this temple the panoramic Kathmandu valley view can be observed. The festival of Bagh Bhairab is celebrated on the first day of month of Bhadra. Around 11 in the morning we can go to some of the traditional restaurants which provides us a delicious and hygienic food with a typical taste. The hospitality they provide us makes us feel like not leaving the place. The special menu for Newari dishes will be serves to us. After lunch, we leave for uma maheshwor from there. It is located at the maximum height of Kirtipur town. From that place we see the complete view of Kathmandu valley. The Swyombhunath, White Gumba can be located from the left wing of the temple. Around 2 in the noon we reach Shri Kirti Bihar. There we find the statue of every stage in Siddhartha Gautam life turning to Gautam Buddha. The enlightment getting is so fascinatingly shown through carvings. Many Buddhist followers and nuns do sacred prayers there and some even sacrifice all their lives for their religion. It is a very peaceful place. The chanting and prayers there gives peace and feeling like light hearted in people. After visit to Shri Kirti Bihar, we will drive to west from Kirtipur to reach Chandragiri cable car station. We will reach to the top of Chandragiri and then stroll around hill and observe Kathmandu valley from the top of hill. The chilling environment makes us fresh and active. Then we descend down to Chitlang via jungle. Approximately, 2 hours hiking reaches to the village of Chitlang, where we stay to night.

day 4

Excursion around Chitlang

A healthy and eco- friendly environment makes us energize. A smiley faces of villagers and their warm hospitality makes us happy. We go for hiking in the morning to observe the different historic places of that area. After lunch, we do boating in Indrasarovar lake, a dam for electricity generation. Then we back to Kathmandu via Pharping. At Pharping we visit monasteries and hindu temples. Around 5 pm, we reach to hotel. Tonight enjoy farewell dinner.
