Trip Overview

The Helambu trek is a short and easy trek, starting with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. Trekkers meet temperate forests, snowy peaks, brilliant green valleys and experience the Yalmo culture of high mountain villages. The Sherpa village of Tarke Ghyang that forms the focus of Helambu is a charming enclave of farmers and yak herders. Mostly rhododendron forests, a variety of wild flowers and distant horizons of snowy peaks grace the trail, making you feel as if you are in Paradise.

Helambu, located just north of Kathmandu, is a standout amongst the most available trekking area in Nepal. Helambu area is loaded with terraced slants, green valleys and thick woodlands of oak, rhododendrons and pines with the scenery of the magnificent Himalayan mountains. It is well known for its sweet apples. The trail offers awe inspiring perspectives of Langtang ranges.

Helambu is home of the Hyolmo, who are mainstream for their cordiality. While on trek you will have the capacity to experience regular culture and way of life of Nepali individuals. It is captivating to watch the agriculturists drudge in the fields yet utilizing their hand-made apparatuses and water bison. The region has various Buddhist monasteries to such an extent that it is viewed as a Buddhist journey site.

day 1

Arrive in TIA, Kathmandu

Our representative will pick you up at the airport. Get a feel for the streets the first day, absorb the sights and sounds, or rest at the hotel. We discuss the journey in the evening.

day 2

Namaste Kathmandu

Kathmandu, the capital city, boasts an intense mix of cultures and religions unique to Nepal. Turn the Buddhist prayer wheels at Swoyambhu- the monkey temple and meet the steady gaze of the Buddha’s eyes at the famous Boudhanath stupa. day 3

Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1350 m.)

The unpaved road from Kathmandu transforms into a trail close to a small hydroelectric plant. The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Shivapuri Nagarjun national park. The major settlement you pass over is Mulkharka with Tamang village. The trail heads down the edge through backwoods of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani (2300 m.), which has eminent views of Annapurna to Everest.

Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2446 m.)

The trail keeps on dropping from Chisapani on a decent, some of the time level trail that crosses knolls and fields. You will then slide through Pati Bhanjyang till Gul Bhanjyang. Trek from Melamchi Gaon to Tarkeghyang (2743 m.).

Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu .
