Journey Overview

Step into a journey where ancient empire meets modern marvel!

Trace your fingers along centuries old stone as you walk the Great Wall, one of humanity's greatest achievements, then stand in the same courtyards where emperors once ruled at the Forbidden City. From there, glide south aboard a bullet train slicing through the Chinese countryside at breathtaking speed, arriving in Shanghai where glass towers pierce the sky and the Bund glows gold against the water at night. Cruise the river as the city's skyline comes alive, lose yourself in the neon energy of Nanjing Road, and spend a day chasing pure joy through the fantasy world of Shanghai Disneyland.

This is China not as a checklist of landmarks, but as a story you walk through, one that shifts from dynasties and dragons to skyscrapers and speed, leaving you changed by the sheer scale of what humans have built across thousands of years.

Frequently asked journey queries

  • Yes, a Chinese visa is required for Nepali travelers and it is fully included in the package cost, so there's nothing extra to arrange on that front.

  • There is no direct flight from Kathmandu to Beijing, so the route connects through Chengdu on both the outbound and return legs. This adds some travel time on Day 1 and Day 8 but is the standard routing for this itinerary.

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included for nearly every day of the trip. The exceptions are during the bullet train journey and the day at Shanghai Disneyland, where a packed meal such as sandwiches or noodles is provided instead of a sit down meal, along with an RMB 100 allowance for food at Disneyland.

  • No, this itinerary has no altitude concerns at all. Beijing and Shanghai are both close to sea level, so this is a completely different physical experience from a Himalayan trek.

  • Spring and autumn are the best seasons for both Beijing and Shanghai, with mild temperatures and clearer skies for outdoor sightseeing. Summers can be hot and humid while winters turn cold and dry, particularly in Beijing.

Travelling through the old kingdom of Lo felt like stepping back five centuries. Permits, jeeps and homestays all just worked.

The turquoise lakes and the view from Gokyo Ri beat anything I have seen in the Alps. Flawless logistics from airport to airport.

Rhinos at dawn from a dugout canoe — unforgettable. Lodges were simple but spotless, and our naturalist guide was superb.
