In Nepal there are thousands of mountain peaks are snowy and average height of 6000m and above. Nepal with 1310 identified Himalayan peaks over 6000m including 8 out of 14 highest peaks in the world is undeniably a premier mountaineering and climbing destination for thousands of climbers and mountaineers. At present there are 326 peaks available for climbing and mountaineering in Nepal.
Peak climbing is physically, mentally and technically tough activity which requires extensive climbing skills. Peak climbing is usually done on sub-eight thousand meters high mountains, where acclimatization is easier, and more effort can be devoted to climbing skill rather than warier brute force to combat altitude.
The permission is granted by NMA to climb peak in Nepal which has been given the authority by the Mountaineering Section of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) of issuing peak climbing permits.
